We have a great range of classes for children at The Dance Academy.All our classes are taught to International Dance Teachers Association standards.Fun and enjoyment is our primary aim whilst still making the classes challenging. Our dance programmes develop basic motor skills and build confidence and social skills.With the reduction in sport at school, dance has an important role to play in children’s fitness.

A fun, but challenging dance class for those who want to learn a mixture of dance styles in one session.Suitable for 7 years +

Each class commences with a dance warm-up and then Junior Dancers develop their skills in Street Dance, Freestyle Disco, Latin American, Ballroom and Rock ‘n Roll.  Classes are divided by age groups and grades.

The Little Groovers’ class is a great general dance class for 4–6 year olds.  We mix fun party dances with the development of basic dance skills in Latin American, Street Dance, Freestyle Disco and Rock ‘n Roll.Little Groovers can take examinations with the International Dance Teachers Association and gain a Rosette Award.  Children love to collect the range of colours and add them to their Bannerette.  

Children not only gain confidence and co-ordination, but also develop self discipline, motivation and the ability to follow instruction.Bring them to one of our Little Groovers’ classes and give them an opportunity to share the enjoyment of dance.

An ideal class for kids who want to increase their dance vocabulary whilst dancing to the latest chart music.  It is great fun as well as enhancing creativity; pupils dance cutting edge choreography as seen on all current music videos.
